A visit to the Petaluma Adobe State Historic Park will bring you back to the largest privately owned adobe building in Northern California in the 1830-40's. The Adobe served as the center of General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo's 66,000-acre (100 square miles) working ranch between 1836-1846. Made from adobe brick and Redwood, its design is typical of Hispanic Architecture. Drop by on Saturday and see the past come to life as vaqueros, cowboys, craftsmen, and traders go about their daily routines. Visitors are invited to make historic crafts alongside ranch hands, and learn the art of roping, branding, and cooking the Californio way - in the great outdoors!
