1. Hands on Cheesemaking Class with Award Winning Cheesemaker

Join award-winning cheesemaker Sheana Davis as she breaks down the barriers to cheesemaking, making it accessible, easy and fun with energetic, hands-on classes that teach participants how to craft a fresh, warm ricotta cheese that is ready to serve and enjoy within 90 minutes. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with locally crafted wine and an artisanal cheese tasting, allowing them to explore different types of handcrafted cheeses prior to creating their own. Next, Davis leads participants in the interactive process of making a fresh ricotta cheese. All ingredients used are readily available in any local grocery and the cooking supplies used reside in most home cooks’ kitchens.

2. "Marine Transformations" featuring Brandy Gale and Deborah Threlkel

Gualala Arts Center presents a new exhibit for October in the Dolphin Gallery. Running through October 7 through November 11, the exhibit "Marine Transformations" feature the works of Brandy Gale and Deborah Threlkel. Brandy Gale is a plein-air artist and photographer whose subject matter focuses on intertidal subjects around the Pacific Rim, she feels at home on the Mendonoma coast. Deborah Threlkel, known as “The Abalone Queen,” is the month’s three-dimensional artist, working with a variety of materials to create her original pieces, all of which share one common trait: they are produced from materials she finds.

3. Ty Caton Vineyards 9th Annual Barrel Tasting
