Change is in as the season changes! As we enter fall and most of the holidays that we're excited about let's not forget - Taking care of our health has become a priority, and not just with the physical aspect but more importantly - our mind.


Particularly during downturns like this, it is crucial that we change our thoughts into empowering ones and stretch our comfort zones. We must constantly choose to remain positive and not let negative thoughts take hold.


Believe it or not, we can choose our thoughts and control our mind. We have the natural ability to cancel any thought that does not support us. We can also install self-empowering thoughts at any time by choosing to focus on them.


There are different techniques to program our mind for success. Many people allow their lives to be controlled by emotions instead of taking control of their thoughts and processing them accordingly to make good decisions. Our minds are powerful and designed for success as long as we can manage what we allow.


Here are the reasons why we should manage our minds:


Positive & Power thinking.

People use positive thinking to pretend that everything is rosy when they really believe it is not. With power thinking though, we understand that something is neutral until we assign it meaning by creating a story. 

This is the difference between a positive thinker and a powerful thinker. A positive thinker believes their thoughts are true, while a power thinker recognizes that their thoughts are not true, but since they are making up a story anyway, they might as well make up a story that supports themselves. 

Why? Not because our new thoughts are true in an absolute sense, but because they are more useful to us and feel a lot better than non-supportive ones.


Meditation.

It can help bring the mind to the present moment. It gives us the ability to be in the now and act effectively. We need to understand that the present moment is the field of all possibilities. It also provides some benefits:

  • Physical fitness
  • Increases focus
  • Enhances clarity
  • Sharpens attention, awareness
  • Boosts awareness
  • Improves observation skills
  • Makes you lighter
  • Creates positive vibrations
  • Gives deep rest


Action and Motion.

They say there are three types of people in the world. Those that watch things happen, those that let things happen and those that make things happen. After assessing our mental state, we need to initiate the actions relevant to our decision, whether we do a big leap or take it one step at a time, which we need to keep doing: just move!


Add value to yourself and others.

We can also have a vision of helping or serving others by adding tremendous value to them and their lives. However, you can't add value to others unless you value yourself first. Belief is a powerful ally, once you're able to harness your inner thoughts. 

Managing and balancing both positive and negative aspects makes a mindset whole, acknowledging and acting on it makes a holistic approach to help us get through these times.
