The ‘sweetest’ day of the year is fast approaching and whether you’ve been together two months or two decades, coming up with great Valentine’s Day date ideas is not an easy feat. And as if that’s not hard enough, we have to deal with social distancing and a coronavirus pandemic, too? What’s a lovebird got to do to have some romance around here?

But the good news is, Valentine’s day isn’t canceled, and there are STILL plenty of ways to make the day unforgettable for your significant other (even though things may still look and feel different this year). In fact, here are ten fun and socially-distanced Valentine’s Day date ideas we’ve compiled that you can surprise your loved one with:

Whip Up Breakfast in Bed

Breakfast in bed may be a simple gesture, but it can help set a romantic mood for the whole day! Make your breakfast more special by whipping up a spread of your Valentine’s favorite breakfast things and spruce it up with some heart-shaped treats and a kiss of sweet Valentine’s Day greetings!

A Morning Bike Ride For Two

Go for a morning bike ride with your beau and start the day right. Not only is riding a bike a great physical exercise that releases endorphins, but it’s also a fun way to discover some hidden gems around your neighborhood or city, especially if you’re taking on a new route! A quick adventure on Valentine’s Day? Count us in!

Pajamas All Day

When was the last time you actually put your hair down and enjoyed the day without looking at the clock? Quite frankly, dealing with work, family life, and financial obligations can be draining, and it’s not every day you get to stay in your pajamas the whole day– and be with your significant other 24/7. So go on, let loose, and enjoy!

Enjoy A (Virtual) Concert

While we’re pretty sure there are still some Valentine’s Day concerts lined up in your area (wherever city or town you’re from), it’s always a good idea to approach everything with a bit of caution– even if it is Valentine’s Day! So, instead of ramming it up with the concert-going crowd this weekend, enjoy a live performance right from your home! Whether you like rock or classical music, you’ll find plenty of options online! Josh Groban, for instance, is performing a special virtual concert on Valentine’s Day!

Takeout Feast

Are you too lazy to cook a fancy meal for Valentine’s Day? Yes, we feel you. We’ve been cooking our meals for so long now it’s about time we kick up our feet and enjoy a takeout feast! Pick up dinner from your favorite restaurant and indulge. You can also get a variety of dishes from a handful of different restaurants for an ultimate Valentine’s Day foodie experience!

Go Backyard Camping

If you have a big outdoor space available to use (you know, that’s bigger than an almost non-existent balcony!), go and turn your backyard into your campsite! Hang some string lights, put out some cozy blankets, and fill up some mugs with a hot, yummy drink! You can even turn it up a notch and build a roaring fire pit! Tap into your creative side and take advantage of what’s available– complete the camping date with stargazing, and most importantly, s’mores!

Get A Relaxing Couples Massage

Are you both stressed from work and chores? Take a break and relax by booking a couples’ massage! Search for spas that offer a full-day package that includes a massage and access to hot tubs and indoor pools. For a cheaper alternative (and a more socially-distanced one!), you can DIY a spa area and give each other a massage!

Re-Create Your Very First Date

Ahh, the sweet memories of your very first date. Reminisce about the good ‘ole days by recreating the first time you went out together. Even if you can’t go to the same restaurant or movie theater, you can cook the same meal at home or watch the same movie you saw. In any case, it’s the whole preparation that will make the activity special, and the outcome is just an extra Valentine’s Day treat!

Plan A Mini-Getaway

Check Airbnb and plan your mini-getaway at a moment’s notice! Not only is it a more inexpensive way to get accommodation for your mini-holiday, but these condominiums and rentals are also usually near activities and amenities you wouldn’t otherwise have at home.

Sunset At The Beach

Go for a road trip to the nearest beach in your area and set up to watch the glorious sunset. It’s the perfect way to have a moment of peace together, just enjoying each other’s company, and a chance to marvel at Mother Nature’s greatness– is there anything more romantic than this?
